Job Overview

Position: Principal Faculty PA, Assistant Professor, Non-Tenure Track

Reports to: Director, Physician Assistant Program

Type: Regular, full-time, non-tenure-track faculty

Months: 12

The Principal Faculty member will play a pivotal role in the development, delivery, and assessment of the didactic curriculum within the Physician Assistant program. This position involves teaching, evaluating, and mentoring students throughout both the didactic and clinical phases of their education. The faculty member will also engage in the ongoing review and evaluation of the program's mission and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Act as course director or co-director as required.
  2. Deliver a minimum of 6 credit hours of instruction each semester.
  3. Provide academic advising to students.
  4. Assist in the collection and management of data to monitor student learning outcomes and program performance.
  5. Oversee exam proctoring and offer remediation as needed.
  6. Participate in various committees, including the SPPC committee, Curriculum committee, and Admissions Committee.
  7. Support the program director in the continuous enhancement and evaluation of the PA program.
  8. Contribute to curriculum revisions and the assessment of course syllabi and lesson plans.
  9. Engage in college committees and professional organizations at both state and national levels.
  10. Attend open houses, special events, and graduation ceremonies.
  11. Review and update academic policies and procedures as necessary.
  12. Participate in accreditation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Terminal degree - Master's from an ARC accredited PA program.
  • Preferred: One year of clinical practice experience.
  • Preferred: Teaching experience.
  • Current NCCPA certification.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the State of Missouri.
