Maintenance Supervisor, Calibration Specialist

The OpportunityThis position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active.
As a Maintenance Supervisor, Calibration, you will be responsible for leading a team of Instrument Technicians, managing the instrumentation program, and ensuring the plant is a safe, efficient production facility.
Key Responsibilities- Directly lead Instrument Technicians assigned to their respective shifts
- Manage instrumentation program across all shifts
- Routinely analyze equipment problems, evaluate repair alternatives, and decide on appropriate courses of action
- Perform shift safety inspections, pursue completion of safety projects, issue all applicable safety permits, regulations, guidelines, and training
- Organize and supervise the Annual Planned Maintenance activities for production equipment and facilities
- Assure shift coordination and follow-through on daily problems
- Support the Maintenance Manager in the department's efforts to maintain a highly productive department
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering, or 4 years equivalent technical experience
- Experience working with electrical systems as a technician or a leader
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- 2+ years Maintenance leadership experience
- Calibration and/or Electrical experience
