Position Overview:
The Certified Respiratory Care Specialist is responsible for executing Cardiopulmonary functions in accordance with institutional protocols and under general oversight. This role encompasses the administration of respiratory therapies, management of airways, oversight of ventilators, analysis of blood gases, and execution of various non-invasive cardiology techniques.

This professional is expected to exemplify exceptional customer service and actively engage in the ongoing quality enhancement initiatives.

Acts as a support resource for fellow staff members.

Educational Requirements:

Professional Experience:
A minimum of one year of intensive care experience with open-heart patients.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Respiratory Care Professional
  • Healthcare Provider (CPR)
  • ACLS Certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider
  • ACLS Instructor
Qualifications:
  • Certification in NRP and ACLS must be achieved within 8 months of employment.
  • Must secure either the Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) or obtain Certified ACLS Instructor status within 18 months of hiring.
  • At least 1 year of critical care experience with open-heart patients is required.
