Overview of the Photography Production Support Specialist Role

In this position, you will play a crucial role in organizing, transporting, and preparing merchandise, props, surfaces, and supplies essential for executing successful photo shoots. You will be a key point of contact for the Producer regarding product issues, supply shortages, and equipment maintenance. We are looking for a Photography Production Support Specialist who is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while providing continuous support to our photography teams.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Producers daily to assess the requirements for photoshoots, including the ordering and organization of merchandise and props, as well as preparing surfaces and supplies.

Sample Management

Familiarize yourself with the sample ordering and returning process to assist in organizing and tracking merchandise before and after photoshoots. Carefully unpack and repack photo samples for safe transit between teams and locations. Unpack, check in, and test products prior to each shoot. Organize paperwork and alert Producers of any product issues, while maintaining accurate records on sample trackers. Ensure all merchandise and props are returned properly labeled and wrapped, promptly notifying the Producer of any discrepancies.

Studio Maintenance

Keep the prop cage, surfaces, and sample inventory organized and documented. Prepare and set out breakfast daily for the team. Maintain a clean and stocked crafty table, notifying the Producer of any supply needs. Manage the loading and unloading of the dishwasher and trash bins daily.

On-Set Support

Arrive at the studio location by the designated start time. Assist in constructing and maintaining various set and surface rigs on-site. Help assemble furniture pieces for photoshoots. Stay attentive and proactive to anticipate the needs of the photo crew. Operate 15' and 20' trucks, as well as a sprinter van, without requiring a special license. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure insurance documentation is readily available. Occasionally travel with photo teams for on-location shoots. Assist in loading and unloading trucks with merchandise. Uphold a professional demeanor with the photo team, vendors, and clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A high school diploma is required. Experience driving large vehicles is essential. A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are mandatory. Willingness to complete a driver training program. Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 75 pounds. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Detail-oriented and self-motivated. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to perform physical tasks, including prolonged standing and lifting.
