Job Summary:

The Parts Sales Representative is a key member of the Great Dane team, responsible for maximizing profitability and service of selling trailer parts within assigned sales territory. This role requires a strong understanding of the aftermarket parts industry, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit customers regularly to ensure they have all necessary information on sales programs, pricing, products, promotions, and contract pricing.
  • Negotiate pricing and establish long-term relationships with customers.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of assigned marketplace and prospect for new customers and opportunities.
  • Work closely with branch staff and other support personnel to achieve sales objectives and other assigned goals.
  • Relay all required information to the parts manager and maintain the highest degree of ethical conduct in all relationships.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and conduct in all relationships.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the aftermarket parts industry.
  • Excellent customer service and telephone communication skills.
  • Mechanical and job-related knowledge of trailer repairs.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks with varying deadlines and prioritize and organize multiple priorities.
  • Personable and able to work with company employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Mechanical background and basic knowledge of computer systems.
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
  • Capable of lifting heavy parts on occasion up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in an environment of varied temperature changes.
