We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our Progressive Care Unit team at Wooster Community Hospital. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist nurses in meeting patient needs as directed by RN/LPN
- Communicate effectively with patients, support person(s), and other members of the healthcare team
- Follow WCH Nursing Philosophy and practice model
- High School diploma or GED
- Must successfully complete WCH PCA training upon hire
- No written disciplinary action in the last 12 months
- Maintain a current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS card
- Personal computer experience and keyboarding skills
- Medical terminology course or demonstrated knowledge
- Successful completion of 1st semester/quarter of clinical experience in LPN or RN program or have STNA Certification
Employees in this position may be exposed to blood, body fluids, and/or airborne pathogens and are required to wear personal protective equipment.
Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, turn, crouch, and bend as necessary to complete nursing care tasks.
Required to take 'on call' status.
Reassigned to another unit to perform duties within current job description.
Subject to STHR (short term hour reduction) according to policy.
Work ScheduleFull Time, three 12 hour shifts a week, 7a-7p with every third weekend rotation.
