Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Legal Officer to join our team at Digital Factory, Inc. as the General Counsel. This is a pivotal role that requires a strong understanding of technology law, intellectual property, and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal guidance and leadership to the executive team on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Lead and manage the legal department, including training and supervising a team of attorneys and legal professionals.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including commercial contracts, licensing agreements, and strategic partnerships.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and develop strategies to protect the company's IP assets.
  • Manage litigation and disputes, working closely with external counsel as needed to resolve legal matters efficiently and effectively.
  • Stay abreast of developments in technology law and industry trends, providing proactive advice to mitigate legal risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization to support business objectives while safeguarding legal and ethical standards.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, transactions, and other legal matters with external parties, including customers, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Drive a culture of integrity, compliance, and ethical behavior throughout the organization, serving as a trusted advisor to all stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the bar in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on technology, intellectual property, and corporate matters.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
