Position Overview:

The role of the Materials Engineer focuses on the development and optimization of materials used in tire manufacturing, ensuring that production meets specified design targets.

Compensation: Competitive salary range of $90K - $120K, along with comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct advanced engineering tasks aimed at innovating product designs.
  2. Perform application testing to assess new technologies and enhance performance metrics.
  3. Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment with production standards.
  4. Maintain the integrity of product and quality systems.
  5. Implement new processes and troubleshoot performance challenges.
  6. Lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes for both existing and future products.
  7. Provide expertise in design and process engineering across manufacturing sites.

Qualifications:

  1. Support the execution of small-scale projects with minimal oversight.
  2. Assist in developing operational plans for assigned responsibilities.
  3. Benchmark new technologies and validate theories related to material properties.
  4. Document and uphold technology and quality standards.
  5. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and testing equipment.
  6. Engage with internal stakeholders to address testing requirements and develop innovative testing methods.
  7. Utilize a systematic approach to identify and resolve issues.
  8. Facilitate communication between manufacturing units and R&D to enhance information flow.
  9. Understand product development processes to ensure quality and analyze results effectively.
  10. Present project updates and conclusions to stakeholders.
  11. Participate in evaluations for intellectual property and patent applications.
  12. Contribute to cross-functional teams for process improvements.
  13. Assess raw materials for suitability in production, including rubber compounds and chemicals.
  14. Coordinate evaluations of new materials in a manufacturing context.
  15. Support manufacturing in addressing quality and performance issues.
  16. Manage supplier relationships for current and new materials.
  17. Apply knowledge of physical property testing and analytical techniques.
  18. Utilize statistical analysis and experimental design principles.
