Job Title: Per Diem Pediatric RN

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Pediatric RN to join our team at Oregon Health & Science University Doernbecher Children's Hospital. As a Per Diem Pediatric RN, you will provide high-quality patient care to children with complex medical needs, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Job Summary

This Per Diem Pediatric RN position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing, with a strong focus on critical care and ventilation management. You will work on various units, including PEDS FLOAT POOL, Peds Stepdown, and Peds Surg, caring for patients with a range of conditions, from neurosurgical to respiratory and endocrine issues.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs, including ventilation management, tracheostomy care, and dialysis.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Float to various units as needed, working with qualified staff to provide high-quality care to patients.
  • Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds, physician team rounds, and family-centered care initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring a positive and supportive care environment.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing, with a strong focus on critical care and ventilation management.
  • AHA BLS and AHA PALS certifications (RQI not accepted).
  • Experience with tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and dialysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
