We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and evaluate laboratory tests, selecting and performing additional procedures as needed.
- Monitor workflow and make adjustments to complete work in a timely manner.
- Evaluate results for clinical significance, validity, and appropriateness.
- Follow prescribed policy in reporting and notification of test results.
- Perform and document calibration, maintenance, and repair of instruments and equipment.
- Recognize indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction and implement corrective actions.
- Perform, document, and review quality control and quality assurance for improvement.
- Assemble and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring proper labeling and suitability.
- Provide general direction, training, and technical assistance to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff.
- Assist in improving the quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies, and processes.
- Bachelor's Degree or graduation from a Medical Technology program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an equivalent program.
- No experience required.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
