Icahn Charter School is actively looking for a dedicated full-time Mathematics Instructor to engage with our students in Grades 7-8.
The ideal candidate for the Mathematics Instructor role will exhibit strong teaching abilities, organize educational activities, and effectively manage classroom dynamics. This position requires the educator to mentor and support students, maintain accurate records, inspire and guide learners, and communicate proficiently with guardians.
Key Responsibilities
- Adapt mathematics lesson plans according to individual student assessments and diagnostic results.
- Establish and uphold classroom management protocols to ensure a conducive learning environment.
- Implement safety regulations to foster a secure atmosphere.
- Evaluate student progress through the preparation, administration, and grading of assessments; review and provide feedback on assignments; and assess the application of learning in discussions and projects.
- Enhance student understanding of mathematics by offering constructive feedback; mentoring, advising, and managing student behavior; and systematically evaluating learning outcomes.
- Document student achievements and conduct to maintain comprehensive records.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience
- New York State Certification
