Middle School Mathematics Educator

The American Dream School is seeking a highly motivated and engaging mathematics educator to join our team. As a Middle School Math Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a rigorous and cutting-edge curriculum that develops scholars in their academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support the development of a rigorous curriculum that aligns with Next Generation/Common Core standards.
  • Develop and teach clear and engaging lessons that follow a rigorous curriculum map.
  • Hold students accountable for high behavioral expectations and implement our behavior management system with consistency.
  • Utilize formal and informal assessment data to drive instruction and ensure student mastery of standards.
  • Implement a full-time co-teaching model to support student learning needs.

Student Support Services:

  • Prepare reports on student academic performance for staff and/or administrators.
  • Tutor and assist students individually or in small groups.
  • Create annual goals for students' IEPs.
  • Implement and track the progress of annual goals of students' IEPs.

Other Professional Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in grade-level meetings, collaborative planning, and professional development.
  • Participate in teacher-parent conferences regarding students' progress or problems.
  • Supervise and manage students in all spaces and during transitions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's preferred.
  • New York State Teaching Certification or Special Education is required.
  • Strong organizational, data tracking, and analysis skills.
  • Tech-savvy; familiarity and experience with Microsoft Office, Gmail, Google docs/drive.
