Job Overview:

As a Radiological Operations Specialist with the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the state's preparedness and response to radiological emergencies. This position requires a strong understanding of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Energy (DOE) contract guidelines.

Estimated Salary Range:

$60,000 - $90,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop plans for program team goals and objectives
  • Establish program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, schedules, priorities, and standards
  • Assist in technical review and evaluation of highly technical safety analysis and engineering plans
  • Coordinate training between the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Department of Energy (DOE), and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
  • Provide supervision and advanced technical guidance for instrument technicians
Requirements:

• A strong background in health physics and radiation detection is required.
