Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Senior Mechanics: Provide support to senior mechanics in the repair and maintenance of domed rail cars, ensuring compliance with FRA regulations and industry standards.
  • Nightly Checks and Repairs: Conduct thorough nightly checks and repairs on rail cars, identifying and addressing any issues that may impact safety or performance.
  • Inventory Management: Utilize software programs to track parts inventory and repairs, ensuring accurate records and efficient maintenance operations.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment by cleaning workspaces, removing hazardous materials, and promoting shop safety.
  • Electrical Testing: Test electrical circuits and components using electrical testing equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance on buildings and grounds, identifying and addressing potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate scissor lifts, ATVs, and forklifts, adhering to company safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • Experience: One year of experience in maintenance positions, with a strong understanding of rail car maintenance and repair.
  • Lifting Ability: Ability to lift 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and bending required.
  • Background Check: Must pass a pre-employment background check, with a minimum age of 18 years required for company housing.
  • Sustainability: Participate in HAP's sustainability program, actively recycling, reducing waste, and educating guests about our commitment to the environment.
  • Safety Culture: Contribute to HAP's safety culture, ensuring a safe workplace for all team members and a safe vacation experience for guests.
  • Customer Service: Dedicated to delivering excellent customer service to guests, coworkers, and vendors.
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the United States, with HAP unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintaining attention to time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team or group environment, supporting and complying with company policies and procedures.
