About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Airframe Structures Engineer to join our Design and Stress team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for engineering key components of our novel airframe, which will be the largest and most complex structure ever built. You will work closely with our design, stress, and manufacturing teams to ensure that our designs efficiently balance the competing needs of functional design, structural performance, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-performance structures for our airframe, including composite structures, mechanisms, and bonded assemblies.
  • Collaborate with our design, stress, and manufacturing teams to ensure that our designs meet the required specifications and performance criteria.
  • Develop and implement structural analysis and testing methods to validate our designs and ensure their safety and reliability.
  • Work with our materials and processes team to select and develop new materials and manufacturing processes that meet our performance and cost requirements.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and technical notes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in the design of high-performance structures, including composite structures, mechanisms, and bonded assemblies.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis and testing methods, including finite element analysis and experimental testing.
  • Experience with materials and processes, including composite materials, metals, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
