Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design improvements to generating electricity, specifying and evaluating electrical equipment, and leading the creation and review of generation station design, drawings, and construction details.
  • Project Management: Manage engineering projects and issues of increasing complexity, size, and number, developing creative solutions and building business cases to implement those solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership within the engineering team, mentoring other engineers and those looking to enter the engineering profession.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to develop designs that allow for safe operation and maintenance of Avista's generation assets, and effectively communicate with internal and external parties.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in an ABET-accredited Engineering Program.
  • Experience: Minimum of eight (8) years of engineering work experience required.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Demonstrated skills illustrating the use of productivity, presentation, and analytical tools specific to the area of expertise, technical leadership, and effective communication skills.
