Role Summary:

As an Avionics Engineer at UPS Airlines, you will devise engineering solutions that align with safety, reliability, and airworthiness standards. You will be tasked with creating cost-effective strategies and recommendations that comply with company aircraft specifications through collaboration with component and aircraft manufacturers.

The realm of Aircraft Connectivity offers numerous opportunities in aviation. Familiarity with Aviation Cybersecurity Standards and Aircraft Connectivity solutions is advantageous but not mandatory for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Aircraft Modifications and Maintenance:
  • Design repair schemes for wiring, components, and electrical systems, utilizing your analytical skills and electrical knowledge while collaborating with our maintenance team and vendors.
  • Oversee, monitor, and implement certification approvals from initiation to completion, including securing necessary funding for assigned projects.
  • Develop solutions aimed at cost reduction, such as alternative repairs, material approvals, and technological advancements.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Act as project manager for applicable FAA and international regulations, securing funding to meet requirements and creating technical work instructions to ensure airworthiness compliance within set timelines.
Reliability Enhancement:
  • Analyze aircraft data to identify opportunities for improving aircraft reliability through modifications, procedural changes, or other necessary actions.
Essential Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant technical experience.
  • Willingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekends as required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Engineer Level I: Meets the essential qualifications listed.
  • Engineer Level II: Meets the essential qualifications and possesses a minimum of seven (7) years of progressive and relevant experience.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proficient in technical analysis and knowledgeable about Federal Aviation Regulations or certification requirements.
  • Experience in an Airline or Maintenance Repair Overhaul Facility.
  • Familiarity with Aviation Cybersecurity requirements and aircraft connectivity solutions.
Interpersonal Skills:

Must demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with a solid avionics/electrical aptitude, multitasking ability, and a hands-on approach to projects.

Drug Testing Information:

As part of the pre-employment process for a safety-sensitive position, a drug screening is mandatory. A negative test result is required before assuming a safety-sensitive role.
