This is a unique opportunity to work with the Office of Information Technology at Sul Ross State University as a Network Services Intern. The successful candidate will support the installation and maintenance of network infrastructure technology, working closely with the Director of Network Services to deliver reliable network connectivity across all SRSU campuses.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain hardware, software, and peripheral equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Install, service, and support desktop computers, peripherals, and multimedia systems.
- Develop training and troubleshooting documentation to support end-users.
- Engage in personal education, training, and staff development activities to enhance technical skills.
- Provide user application support and training to ensure seamless adoption of new technologies.
- Assist in inventory management to ensure accurate tracking of equipment and supplies.
- Communicate issues and concerns expressed by end-users to ensure prompt resolution.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Interested in information technology or information systems.
- Must enjoy some physical labor and be organized.
- Must be enrolled at Sul Ross State University and in good standing.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Basic analytical and computer skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and work effectively with an understanding of policies and procedures.
- Desire to learn about standards, guidelines, and best practices relative to information technology.
- The ability to work on a ladder.
