We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at CareerNation.
Job Summary:The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing technical laboratory testing, documenting daily QC and corrective action, and entering and verifying laboratory results in the LIS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical technology and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform laboratory tests and procedures with minimal supervision
- Document daily QC and corrective action as needed
- Enter and verify laboratory results in the LIS
- Assist with training and orientation of departmental personnel
- Resolve problems with technical testing and proficiency testing
- Review and evaluate test results and reports for accuracy and consistency
- Collect data, prepare reports, and compile statistics as directed
- Check supply inventory and maintain patient confidentiality
- BS Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences
- Completion of a one-year internship program in an accredited institution
- One year experience as a medical technologist
- ASCP or NCA certification preferred
- NYS license required
The Medical Technologist will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a medical group and laboratory environment.
