About the Role

Auburn University is seeking a skilled HVACR Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building climate control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine installation, replacement, or repairs to building heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment, including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heat pumps, compressors, forced-air furnaces, boilers, exhaust fans, humidifiers, split systems, variable frequency drives, and programmable logic controllers.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing major HVACR system repair projects, such as the replacement of air handling units, chillers, or boilers, and lead emergency repair efforts to repair such units.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot HVACR systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating operating status and material condition, identifying necessary repairs, and recommending a proper course of action.
  • Oversee and plan assigned work orders using Facilities Management AIM work order system to prioritize and schedule work to best meet the needs of Auburn University and its customers.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and 2 years of experience as an HVACR technician or an Associate's degree or vocational training in HVACR or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must obtain Universal Refrigerant Card within 90 days of the hire date.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular lifting, bending, or other physical exertion. You will often be exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., with one often to the point of being objectionable. Injuries may require professional treatment.
