Auburn University is seeking a skilled HVACR Technician to join our Facilities Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine repairs and preventive maintenance on a variety of building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance on HVACR equipment, including air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, exhaust fans, fan coil units, variable air volume boxes, motors, pumps, air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution, and variable volume systems.
- Assist in major component replacement and systems repairs under the supervision of higher-level technicians.
- Perform seasonal transitions of systems to and from heating and cooling.
- Assist in executing HVACR system repair projects, such as the replacement of air handling units, chillers, or boilers, as well as emergency repair efforts to repair such units.
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experience as an HVACR technician for Level I.
- Some college; vocational or Associate's degree in Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems, Refrigeration, Building Control Systems, or related plus 5 years of experience as an HVACR technician for Level II.
- Valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to selection.
- Universal Refrigerant Card or must obtain within the first 90 days of employment for Level I.
- North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification for Level II.
