Job Summary

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Fairview Park Hospital provides a comprehensive learning experience for new graduate nurses. This paid program is designed to support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse, with a focus on clinical and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting administration of care in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient response and notifying providers as needed.
  • Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating needs.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
  • No previous experience required.
