About the Role

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the school instructional leadership team, you will play a critical role in supporting teachers and students to achieve academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support in the areas of curriculum, instruction, development, and implementation
  • Establish clear weekly deadlines for curriculum materials
  • Host and conduct regular curriculum review conferences with teachers
  • Visit classrooms to provide support and ensure that lesson activities are aligned to objectives-driven curriculum plans
  • Provide teachers with ideas, feedback, and instructional tools or techniques to improve student achievement
  • Teach demonstration lessons and arrange cross-curricular classroom observations
  • Meet with building principal on a regular basis to ensure that teachers' professional challenges or instructional needs are being addressed
  • Ensure that parents receive comprehensive academic progress reports throughout the year
  • Work with teachers and other staff to ensure appropriate support is provided for students in need of academic intervention
Requirements
  • Master's Degree Required
  • Certification as required by the State of Ohio; Administrative License required at time of application
  • At least 5 years of full-time, measurably effective and successful classroom teaching or staff leadership experience
  • Experience with project-based learning, or other 21st-century skills-based academic programs
  • Firm grasp of state and district learning standards, The Common Core
