Job Summary:

The Library Information Specialist will play a vital role in promoting student success by providing a balanced approach to print and technology resources. This position requires leadership and expertise in selecting, acquiring, evaluating, and organizing information resources and technologies in all formats. The successful candidate will supervise and manage the school library/media center, providing services and resources that enable students to develop essential skills in locating, evaluating, synthesizing, and using information to solve problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional technology support to ensure the library/media center is integrated into instructional programs
  • Develop and maintain a collection of digital resources that meet the needs of students and teachers
  • Supervise and manage the school library/media center, including budgeting, purchasing, and scheduling
  • Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum content and learning outcomes
  • Implement district standards for library procedures, including classification, cataloging, and processing resources

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Valid Texas school librarian certificate or endorsement preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will be able to maintain a positive attitude, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and work effectively in a team environment.
