Position Overview:

The Surgical Technology Intern plays a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency of the surgical department. This position involves the meticulous cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment, adhering strictly to infection control protocols.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the decontamination, sterilization, distribution, and storage processes for surgical supplies and instruments.
  • Engage in Performance Improvement initiatives to enhance departmental operations.
  • Exhibit sound fiscal management practices.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant environment of care.
  • Participate in ongoing educational opportunities to further professional development.
  • Achieve all assigned objectives and goals.

Qualifications:
Education:

Minimum: Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited surgical or cardiovascular technology program.


Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively in standard English, both written and verbally, to ensure high productivity and efficiency. Proficient in legible writing and accurate record-keeping as required for job functions.


Experience:

Special Skills:

Minimum: Proficiency in computer applications.


Training:

Minimum: Must meet or exceed all academic standards set forth by the educational institution.
