Job Title: Psychiatric Technician

Job Summary:

The Idaho Division of Human Resources is seeking a Psychiatric Technician to join our team at State Hospital West. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will provide therapeutic care and support to individuals with mental health conditions in an inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a therapeutic environment for patients
  • Implement treatment plans and monitor outcome of goals
  • Conduct therapeutic activities and co-facilitate group therapy sessions
  • Interact with patients on a one-to-one basis and in group settings
  • Observe and record patients' vital signs and behavior

Requirements:

  • Some knowledge of human services, including psychology, nursing, or social work
  • Typically requires a completed college course in psychology, nursing, or social work, or at least six months of experience in dual diagnosis, behavioral interventions, mental health disorders, and medications
  • Experience with behavior management for individuals diagnosed with mental illness and developmental disabilities
