We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative at the DuPage County Health Department. In this role, you will provide exceptional service to our clients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Provide general and specific information regarding departmental policies, procedures, and programs to the public.
- Conduct pre-screening activities, direct individuals to the proper location, resource, and/or staff.
- Check in customers, schedule follow-up appointments, and collect various methods of payment.
- Notify staff promptly when an individual arrives for an appointment, prepare client charts and files, and answer phones.
- Screen for eligibility for programs or services, listen and respond to client concerns and questions, and gather basic information from callers.
- Process incoming and outgoing calls through the operations of a call distribution center, provide general information to County residents/clients, and refer questions to appropriate parties.
- Compile data on number of calls, follow-up calls, and source referrals for review by supervisor, schedule appointments, and answer TDD calls.
- Some experience working in a human/social service-related field, coupled with customer service experience.
- Bilingual-Spanish strongly preferred.
As a full-time DuPage County employee, you will be eligible for our comprehensive benefit package, including paid training, 12 paid holidays per year, 2 weeks of paid vacation, paid sick and personal time, health insurance through Blue Cross and Blue Shield, dental, vision, IMRF retirement account, additional supplemental insurance available, flexible spending accounts, prescription plans, disability insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
