Division Chief of Endocrinology and Diabetes

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking an exceptional academic endocrinologist to assume the role of Division Chief of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. This is an opportunity for a full-time Professor or Associate Professor Physician Scientist to provide strong, clinical leadership and spearhead the expansion of our clinical, educational, and research programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership with responsibility over all aspects of the division's operations across all missions (clinical, teaching, research, and service).
  • Assess needs, develop, implement and evaluate strategies to advance strategic priorities in all missions, as well as faculty career progression according to the UW Madison School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) and UW-Madison Appointment and Promotion Criteria.
  • Promote and support the advancement of a diverse faculty, on all tracks, and a welcoming, and inclusive environment for students, faculty and staff.

Requirements:
  • Candidate must be an acknowledged academic physician with demonstrated excellence in research, education and clinical care.
  • Must possess a record of scholarly achievements, outstanding leadership skills, professionalism and ability to develop interdisciplinary, collaborative programs.
  • Formal experience in teaching, both didactic and in the clinical setting, of Endocrinology to learners enrolled in a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) or American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (AOACOCA) accredited medical school and/or Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited program.

The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the University of Wisconsin system.
