Job Title: Lead Teacher - Infant Room

Job Summary:
The Lead Teacher in the Infant Room is responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that fosters the growth and development of infants in a child care setting. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, documenting developmental milestones, and communicating effectively with parents and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Care and Supervision:
    - Provide attentive and responsive care to infants, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
    - Supervise and engage infants in activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
    - Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
  • Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
    - Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with infants' developmental needs and learning requirements, incorporating activities that foster growth in all developmental domains.
    - Use various teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
  • Documentation and Assessment:
    - Observe and document each infant's developmental progress, including milestones and any concerns.
    - Maintain accurate records of each child's activities, routines, and developmental achievements.
    - Conduct regular assessments and prepare reports for parents and administrative staff.
  • Parent Communication and Involvement:
    - Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
    - Provide parent-teacher conferences to discuss developmental milestones and address any questions or concerns.
    - Encourage and facilitate parent involvement in the classroom.
  • Professionalism and Ethics:
    - Adhere to all licensing regulations, health and safety guidelines, and organizational policies.
    - Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of children, families, and staff.
    - Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Continuous Development and Reflective Practices:
    - Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
    - Engage in reflective practices to continuously improve teaching methods and classroom management.
  • Team Collaboration:
    - Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
    - Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers and volunteers in the classroom.

Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field OR level 4 and above on the Oklahoma Registry.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification; additional certifications may be required based on state regulations.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to create a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for infants.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry infants and young children.
- Ability to sit on the floor and engage in activities with infants.
- Ability to respond quickly to the needs of infants in a fast-paced environment.
