As a Facilities Operations Manager, you will embody our Mission of Love by providing hands-on leadership for a team of employees, including supervisors, leads, and maintenance personnel. You will assign and schedule work, assess staffing needs, make employment recommendations, conduct performance evaluations, and determine compensation in collaboration with the department director. You will coach and counsel employees while serving as a liaison between departments and external agencies.

What will I do as a Facilities Operations Manager?
  • Organize and establish goals and objectives for the maintenance team, collaborating with other managers, supervisors, leads, and their personnel to coordinate efforts through a team-oriented approach to complete tasks and resolve issues.
  • Possess knowledge of OSHA, local, state, and federal regulations, applicable building, electrical, plumbing, and trade codes, as well as all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to allocate labor, prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and ensure the maintenance team fulfills the department's responsibilities for completing work orders and assigned tasks, including identifying and troubleshooting equipment and structural issues while maintaining an effective preventive maintenance system.
  • Oversee, supervise, schedule, and inspect work, including work order requests and preventive maintenance tasks, for maintenance staff in designated areas, both in workshops and in the field. Ensure proper requisition of supplies and materials for the maintenance team.
  • Responsible for maintaining an established staffing plan through effective recruitment, interviewing, and selection of the most suitable candidates. Mentor staff through regular performance evaluations and refer them to continuing education programs. Adhere to the progressive discipline policy/procedure outlined in the Masonic Villages' Personnel Policy/Code of Conduct Handbook.
  • Ensure the proper operation of all equipment and systems, including but not limited to heating, cooling, water, sewer, high voltage distribution systems, roadways, and the overall condition of the physical plant, including buildings, roadways, walkways, and general grounds.
  • Ensure personnel are adequately trained in maintenance operations, equipment maintenance, systems, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Ensure the safety of all staff, monitor staff practices, and report unsafe practices to the department director.
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of the annual departmental operating and capital projects budgets.
What is required in this position:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in one or more trades (carpentry, masonry, equipment operation, electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, etc.) with a minimum of six years of experience in maintenance and trade.
  • Knowledge of construction practices and building codes.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • A minimum of four years of supervisory experience is essential.
  • Must possess skills in labor allocation, prioritization, time management, supervision, and understanding of blueprints and specifications.
  • Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels of staff.
  • Strong written, oral, organizational, and computer skills.
