Position Overview
The Gender Equality Program aims to provide essential support to organizations dedicated to dismantling harmful gender norms and promoting the well-being and empowerment of women and girls. The Program Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the grantmaking process, program administration, and external engagement under the guidance of the Program Director. This position is ideal for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to meaningful social change.
Key Responsibilities
- Grantmaking Support: Assist in managing the grant lifecycle, including communication with applicants, preparation of approval materials, and maintaining the grants calendar.
- Program Implementation: Collaborate with the Program Director to identify opportunities for enhancing program effectiveness and contribute to writing and editing materials for various audiences.
- Administrative Duties: Manage scheduling, travel logistics, and correspondence to ensure smooth program operations.
- External Engagement: Support meetings with partners, including logistics and note-taking, and represent the organization in various forums as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong commitment to gender rights as human rights, with a focus on inclusivity for all individuals.
- Bachelor's degree with relevant experience in administrative or programmatic support, preferably in nonprofit sectors.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written Spanish is essential.
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience in drafting reports and engaging diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace; experience with grants management software is a plus.
- Ability to represent the organization with professionalism and discretion.
- A proactive approach to work, with a willingness to learn and grow within the role.
