Amentum is in search of skilled Software Engineering professionals with a background in software development to assist in the creation, integration, and evaluation of software systems. This role involves a combination of remote and on-site work as project requirements dictate.

You will integrate into our expanding systems and software engineering team, contributing to a variety of contracts that support our Centers of Excellence. We seek individuals who are passionate about addressing intricate Digital Engineering challenges.

Utilize your expertise to enhance the latest Department of Defense weaponry and sensor technologies, thereby aiding the Navy's modernization efforts and overall mission success. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication abilities and engage directly with clients and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities of the Hypersonic Software Developer:

+ Design, develop, and validate a central Software System primarily utilizing C++11.

+ Implement agile methodologies to iteratively refine and enhance the software, addressing bugs and introducing new functionalities.

+ Provide comprehensive support throughout the software lifecycle: design, implementation, testing, and verification, collaborating with team members who specialize in design, testing, data analysis, and development.

+ Acquire and disseminate Domain Knowledge and technical skills.

+ This position requires a flexible work arrangement, with a commitment to on-site presence as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience, with 2-7 years in the field.

+ Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (candidates must be able to receive an interim Secret security clearance to commence work). Note: U.S. Citizenship is necessary for obtaining a SECRET Clearance.

+ Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse team of developers, testers, engineers, and Subject-Matter Experts.

+ Strong communication skills to interact with leadership.

+ Eagerness to learn essential Domain Knowledge, tools, and technical frameworks as required.

+ Proficiency in Advanced C++ Development: C++11 Standard, including features such as smart memory management and lambdas, as well as familiarity with data structures and concurrency.

Preferred Experience:

+ Familiarity with frameworks such as Qt GUI Framework.

+ Experience with databases and SQL for data management, as well as file descriptors for configuration access.

+ Knowledge of low-level programming concepts, including bit operations and socket communication.

+ Competence in debugging complex, distributed systems.

+ Experience with Linux development environments and tools.

+ Understanding of cross-language programming capabilities, including Python and JavaScript.

Domain Knowledge (Preferred but not required):

+ Understanding of radar interfacing and data processing.

+ Familiarity with gun weapon systems and time sequencing algorithms.
