Position Overview:

About Barrier Technologies:

Our organization is dedicated to ensuring compliance within the healthcare sector, focusing on safety and regulatory standards. We offer a range of services including inspections and repairs of Fire Dampers, Fire Doors, Firestopping installations, and maintenance of Air Duct/Mechanical systems, among others.

We collaborate with our clients to uphold legal compliance and ensure the highest safety standards in commercial and institutional facilities across the nation.

Established in 1987, we are an independent, privately owned company with a presence in multiple states.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of fire dampers in accordance with NFPA 80 regulations.
  • Complete training for Fire Damper Inspection as specified in our procedural manuals.
  • Provide precise documentation to clients for compliance and reporting purposes.
  • Maintain professional communication with clients and internal teams.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support other service lines.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to review and approve inspection reports for client distribution.
  • Familiarity with Life Safety Plans (LSPs) and their labeling.
  • Knowledge of tools and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience in identifying and documenting deficiencies during inspections.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience working with clients.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent record-keeping and tracking skills for inspections.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft Office for reporting purposes.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling tools, reach, climb, and maintain balance. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work from ladders. Extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary, along with extensive travel.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is required.
  • Successful completion of a drug screening and background checks is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% or 100% of the time, depending on the position.
