Job Summary: As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will deliver exceptional pharmaceutical care to both inpatients and outpatients at Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Your role will involve establishing, practicing, and advocating for the highest standards of quality pharmaceutical services.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited A.C.P.E. College of Pharmacy or possession of the Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Certification.

Experience: Prior hospital experience or relevant hospital experience during pharmacy education or internship is essential.

Licensure/Certification: Must be licensed by the Board of Pharmacy to practice in South Carolina.

Knowledge/Skills: Comprehensive understanding of professional pharmacy practices and hospital pharmacy medication distribution systems. Ability to monitor medication therapies across various patient age groups, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Proficient in reading and interpreting the English language. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to recommend effective solutions. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Capability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures effectively. Clear communication skills are essential. Must possess the ability to supervise pharmacy support personnel effectively.

Other: This position requires prolonged periods of standing or sitting, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching, and may involve lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, as well as the ability to distinguish letters and symbols. Normal vision range is necessary, and the role may involve working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

Contacts: Regular interaction with patients, family members, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare personnel.

Work Demands/Environment:
Work is conducted in patient care areas, including decentralized and main pharmacies. Utilization of office equipment such as computer terminals, personal computers, and telephones is required. Frequent activities include sitting, walking, standing, stooping, and bending. May require lifting or moving items up to 25 lbs. Frequent use of finger/hand dexterity is necessary. Constant communication is expected, and corrected hearing and vision to normal range are required. Possible exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue, as well as infectious materials and communicable diseases common in healthcare settings. The role demands the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage irregular hours.
