Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of dynamic engineering teams, including requirements gathering, scrums, retrospectives, and team-building activities.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining APIs, user interfaces, services, and systems.
  • Engaging in hands-on coding while providing direct support to engineering team members.
  • Offering technical and architectural guidance for the development, design, integration, testing, and maintenance of our platform.
  • Leading agile software methodologies within engineering teams and implementing industry best practices.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align team contributions with organizational goals, creating technology roadmaps, and establishing realistic product release timelines.
  • Managing the full lifecycle of team leadership to attract, engage, retain, mentor, and evaluate high-performing engineers.
  • Acting as an internal advocate for the engineering team, articulating the opportunities and challenges technology presents for project development.
  • Addressing technical debt to ensure our development velocity remains agile and predictable while minimizing operational incidents.
  • Contributing to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Circle's engineering management team.
  • Coordinating the execution of these activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams within Circle.

What You Bring to Circle:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical leadership roles.
  • At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of coding experience in languages such as Go, Java, or JavaScript.
  • A hands-on technical manager with experience in designing, building, and deploying secure, scalable products and services.
  • A passion for coaching and developing leaders both within and outside your team.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and trade-offs.
  • Experience managing remote teams effectively.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.

Additional Information:

  • This position is eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates.

Circle is dedicated to fostering an inclusive financial future, with transparency at the heart of our mission. We consider various factors when determining compensation ranges and total compensation packages.

Starting pay is influenced by factors such as relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and organizational needs. Compensation ranges may vary for candidates in different locations.

Base Pay Range: $182,500 - $240,000

Annual Bonus Target: 15%

Also Included: Equity & Benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)). Circle offers a discretionary vacation policy, 10 days of paid sick leave per year, and 11 paid holidays per year in the U.S.
