Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the General Manager in directing the overall performance of the location, providing public transit services. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of contracts, facility, and safety of personnel and passengers, customer service, and managing financials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless service delivery
  • Provide strategic planning and direction to the operation, driving performance and efficiency
  • Ensure contract compliance, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Share responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing for management staff
  • Oversee and manage drivers, dispatchers, supervisors, and customer service representatives
  • Develop and review reports to monitor performance, efficiency, and profitability
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience in passenger transportation; labor relations experience a plus
Skills and Knowledge
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws, transit operation methods, and staff departments
  • Ability to manage cost control, financials, and budget experience handling multiple locations
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and ability to influence people at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively with labor, including labor grievances and negotiations
  • Maintain CDL with applicable endorsements
Work Environment
  • 100% of work is accomplished indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities
  • Work is accomplished in an office or cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer
