Job Title: Staff Attorney Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced attorney to lead our trial office in Louisville, Kentucky. As a Staff Attorney Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, and representing clients in criminal cases.

About the Role:
  • Manage the trial office and supervise a team of attorneys, investigators, and administrative staff.
  • Represent clients in misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony cases, ensuring vigorous, effective, and ethical representation.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve case outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to advance the mission of the Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy.
Requirements:
  • Four years of experience as a licensed attorney in the practice of law.
  • Admission to practice law and in good standing in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or compliance with Kentucky Supreme Court Rule (SCR) (limited certification of admission to practice), SCR (attorney participants in defender or legal services programs), SCR (practice pending admission).
  • Maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification.
Working Conditions:

Duties are performed primarily in both office and courtroom settings. Travel is required.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS.
