About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Biomarker Assay Development team at Neurocrine Biosciences. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and performing robust clinical biomarker assays to support our drug development candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fit-for-purpose clinical biomarker assays
  • Evaluate new technologies to support evolving translational biomarker strategies
  • Perform lab work independently and direct the outsourcing of studies to CROs
  • Assist in the transition of biomarker assays from basic research to clinical use
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in immunoassay-based assay development and validation
  • Collaborate with project teams, biomarker leaders, clinical operations, and regulatory affairs on the implementation of biomarker assays in clinical trials
  • Generate and work with complex data sets, with a strong understanding of advanced data analysis and statistical tests
  • Maintain and update SOPs and write data summaries for experiments conducted
  • Review, comprehend, and comply with all SOPs, safety, and quality assurance standards
  • Provide training and/or supervision to junior staff, as needed
Requirements
  • BS/BA degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • MS/MA degree and 3+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • PhD or equivalent and some relevant experience; may include postdoc experience
  • Track record of successful implementation of immunoassays, proteomics, and cell-based assays for biomarker discovery using pre-clinical or clinical samples
  • Extensive experience working with tissue samples and/or biofluids
  • Experience with techniques such as ELISA, IP, western blotting, flow cytometry, high content imaging, and HTRF
  • Experience with managing contract research organizations
  • Hands-on experience with biomarker assay platforms such as Luminex, MesoScale Discovery, and/or SIMOA
  • Exosome purification in humans and non-clinical species is a plus
  • Experience working with human biospecimens is a plus
What We Offer

We offer a competitive annual base salary of $106,400.00-$154,000.00, an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary, and eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday, and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits.
