Job Summary

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to support our largest Engineering Consulting clients in the energy sector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing geotechnical and engineering design support for commercial and industrial projects in Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Geotechnical Field Investigations: Participate in cradle-to-grave geotechnical operations, including investigation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Project Field Work: Organize and supervise project field work for civil and geotechnical engineering design, including field testing and sample/data collection.
  • Geotechnical Engineering Design: Prepare geotechnical engineering design and recommendations for structural foundations, retaining walls, embankments, berms, and site development for energy projects.
  • Lab Testing and Analysis: Review and analysis of geotechnical analytical laboratory data, perform lab testing, and maintain oversight of geotechnical laboratory operations.
  • Construction Monitoring and Testing: Oversight of geotechnical related construction monitoring and testing, review of construction monitoring and testing results.
  • Technical Report Preparation: Develop work plans, reports, and proposals for various types of geotechnical and structural foundation investigations and assessment projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering (or related field)
  • 5+ years of related experience in a Civil or geotechnical environment
  • Planning and performing geotech investigations, evaluating lab testing data, characterizing material properties, performing geotechnical & structural analyses and designs, etc.
  • Providing construction QA/QC, slope stability, subsurface investigation, foundation designs, and overseeing construction
  • Good communication, customer-focused, and work well in a team environment
  • Must possess client interaction and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Master's degree
  • E.I.T. or P.E. Certification
  • Software knowledge suites: Geotechnical evaluation software, geotech design/modeling software, and civil site modeling software
