Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering (or related)
- 5+ years of related experience in a Civil or geotechnical environment
- Planning and performing Geotech investigations (Environments such as Utilities, Power, Communications, Industrial, etc.)
- Evaluating lab testing data, characterizing material properties, performing geotechnical & structural analyses and designs, etc.
- Providing construction QA/QC
- Slope Stability / Subsurface investigation / Foundation designs / overseeing construction etc. (Greenfield-80% & Brownfield-20% Environments)
- Good communication, customer focused and work well in a team environment.
- Must possess client interaction and organizational skills
Plusses:
- Bachelor’s is from ABET accredited engineering program.\
- Master’s degree
- E.I.T. or P.E. Certification
- Software Knowledge Suites:
- Geotechnical evaluation software such as: GeoMaster, PLAXIS 3D, L-pile
- Geotech Design/Modeling software: Geo-Slope, Seep/Slope
- Civil Site Modeling Software: AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D
Overview:
Insight Global is in search of a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer to support one of our largest Engineering Consulting clients in Midland, Texas. This Engineer will provide support for various geotechnical and engineering design for commercial and industrial projects on various Energy and Renewable Energy Projects in Texas. Primary responsibilities include to assist with geotechnical field investigations, oversight of geotechnical testing, data review and report preparation as required. Additional responsibilities could also include assistance with review of construction monitoring and testing and associated regulatory compliance.
Day to Day:
- Participating in Cradle-to-Grave geotechnical operations (Investigation -> analysis and reporting)
- Organize and supervise project field work for civil and geotechnical engineering design, including field testing and sample/data collection.
- Prepare geotechnical engineering design and recommendations for structural foundations, retaining walls, embankments, berms, and site development for energy projects.
- Review and analysis of geotechnical analytical laboratory data.
- Perform lab testing and eventually maintain oversight of geotechnical laboratory operations.
- Oversight of geotechnical related construction monitoring and testing.
- Develop work plans, reports and proposals for various types of geotechnical and structural foundation investigations and assessment projects.
- Technical report preparation.
- Review of construction monitoring and testing results.
- Other duties may be assigned.
