Medical Professional for General Surgery/Trauma Unit

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Professional to join our General Surgery/Trauma unit at Albany Medical Center.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will contribute to creating a compassionate and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues through displays of kindness and active listening. Key responsibilities include implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and special tests, as well as documenting treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.

- Documents treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered.
- Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- An estimated salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.
