Clinical Nurse, Full-Time
Day Shift 7am to 7:30pm
Rotating Schedule (Every other weekend off)

Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer or House Supervisor, the Clinical Nurse is accountable for employing the nursing process while delivering, directing, and overseeing care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Clinical Nurse organizes, coordinates, and provides patient care, which includes interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, and educating patients and families for post-hospitalization, as well as accessing community resources. Additional related duties may be performed as assigned or requested.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains precise and comprehensive reports and records. Observes, documents, and communicates symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Keeps complete and accurate records of all activities performed. Adjusts patient treatment plans based on patients' responses and conditions. Collaborates and consults with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions. Monitors all aspects of care, including dietary and physical activity. Directs and supervises Mental Health Technicians. Prepares patients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments. Completes all scheduled assessments and physician orders promptly. Demonstrates proper use of medication dispensing systems. Functions effectively as a team member within the department. Performs duties accurately and professionally, being mindful of patient and departmental needs. Exhibits knowledge and skill in nursing processes and procedures, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the relevant state. Current BLS certification is required through AHA or American Red Cross. Crisis management certification per organizational policy and standards is required.

Experience: One year of inpatient behavioral health nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.
