This role is situated within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), specifically in the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sector, under the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and the ICE Health Service Corps (IHSC). This is a non-supervisory position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to detainees, applying knowledge of nursing principles and practices.
- Administer nursing procedures as prescribed, adhering to established guidelines and maintaining current competency documentation.
- Document all patient interactions using the S.O.A.P.E. format, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assess patient needs and develop appropriate nursing care plans.
- Gather medical histories and refer identified issues to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Implement nursing triage processes and conduct screenings during sick calls.
- Facilitate communication with detainees requiring interpretation services.
- Provide daily nursing care in designated medical units and report any abnormalities to medical staff.
- Coordinate healthcare needs with the healthcare team and manage referrals to external providers.
- Educate patients in accordance with agency directives.
- Maintain non-involvement in security aspects of care.
- Assist medical providers during appointments and respond to emergency medical situations as required.
- Administer medications and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring quality control.
- Participate in meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and hold a valid nursing license. A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience is required, along with current CPR/BLS certification.
Additional Information:
The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and collaborate with the Health Services Administrator and Clinical Director.
