We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced culinary professional to join our team as a Lead Cook at Wegmans Food Markets. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Prep and Line Cooks, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Sous Chef in running the kitchen and leading employees, overseeing operations in their absence
- Follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to ensure consistency and high standards
- Share knowledge and passion for food with customers and employees, suggesting ways to prepare meal items and incorporate products from other departments
- Manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback, and development opportunities
- 2+ years of experience as a prep or line cook
- Experience leading a team
- Food safety and quality assurance knowledge
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts
- Experience working in a multi-faceted food service facility
