About the Role:

The Independent Living Donor Advocate (ILDA) plays a critical role in ensuring the rights and well-being of living donors and prospective living donors. As an ILDA, you will be responsible for advocating for patient autonomy and readiness, safeguarding informed consent, and adhering to program policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview potential living donors and provide contact information throughout the evaluation and donation process.
  • Ensure all potential living donors are entering into the evaluation of their own free will and are available to advocate and support throughout the process.
  • Document all interactions with donor candidates, including assessed levels of understanding.
  • Represent and advise donors, protecting and promoting their interests, respecting their decisions, and ensuring informed and free-from-coercion decisions.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree
  • Experience in healthcare
  • Patient advocacy skills
  • Computer/technical skills, use of Microsoft Word
  • Interpersonal and effective communication skills
  • Ability to self-direct learning and work
