Job Overview

Position Title: Systems Engineer

Role Summary:

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the development and documentation of standard operating procedures for system administration. This role requires adherence to organizational protocols to maintain system security and configuration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for system administration.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational security protocols.
  • Maintain baseline system security in accordance with established policies.
  • Monitor and manage server configurations effectively.
  • Conduct regular health checks on system maintenance.
  • Oversee the installation, implementation, configuration, and support of system components.
  • Plan and execute security measures to ensure compliance.
  • Create and document data flow diagrams and Visio network/system diagrams.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Advise senior management on risk levels and security posture.
  • Track audit findings and ensure appropriate mitigation actions are implemented.
  • Oversee division policy standards and implementation strategies to ensure compliance with cybersecurity models.
  • Stay informed about current and emerging threats and risk management approaches.
  • Ensure successful implementation of security requirements and IT policies that align with organizational goals.
  • Collect and maintain data for cybersecurity reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement necessary security improvement actions.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity inspections and reviews across the network.
  • Analyze non-compliance patterns to assess risk impact and effectiveness.
  • Manage monitoring of all information security data sources to maintain situational awareness.
  • Identify alternative security strategies to meet evolving organizational objectives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in systems security with a solid understanding of the software lifecycle.
  • Ideal candidates are early in their careers, self-motivated, and eager to expand their skill set.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Security+ certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Prior military experience is advantageous.

Education & Experience: 3+ Years of relevant experience required.

Work Authorization: US Citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of the work.
