Lead Mechanical Engineer for Casting Simulations

About the Role:
Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled mechanical engineer to assist in casting simulations using ProCAST for new and existing designs.
The position will involve modeling methodology development and validation, supporting internal and external vendors to get components through PPQ, and defining new design geometries driven by simulation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting Large Gas Turbine Technology programs in Casting Simulation and Mechanical Integrity
- Developing advanced casting simulation techniques and validation approach
- Performing casting simulation to support Manufacturing and external vendors
- Performing Mechanical Integrity simulations on turbine blades and vanes and supporting Integrated Product Design (IPD) teams
- Coordination of work packages with required interface teams in matrix organization
- Preparation of Engineering documents and presentation of technical results
- Ensuring overall success of design projects for time, cost and quality
Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
- 1 + year of Procast experience
- Advance knowledge and strong background in mechanical integrity and design
- Experience in gas turbine industry or turbomachinery applications
- Experience in CAD modeling, mesh generation and defining boundary conditions in NX, ANSYS, Simcenter 3D, etc.
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) experience (Ansys, Abaqus, or similar)
- Strong desire to learn, through reading, and ability to perform literature searches
- Knowledge of internal cooling schemes/technologies for turbine hot gas path hardware
- General understanding of the investment casting process
- Applicant should be flexible to work and travel up to 20% (Domestic/International)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- 3 years' experience in gas turbine industry
- Programming experience (Matlab, Python, C/C++, Linux, etc.)
- Proven track record of validating simulations against real-world experimental data
- 1 year experience in casting simulations (preferably ProCAST)
- Strong knowledge of equiaxed investment casting processes
