Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Facilities Operations Coordinator at the Space Telescope Science Institute. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous administrative experience to contribute to the success of our multi-mission science operations center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliveries and Logistics: Deliver materials throughout the Institute and satellite office locations, and assist with package shipping and receiving.
  • Property Control and Inventory: Assist with tagging and logging of new property, and maintain accurate records.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Assist with minor building repairs, including patching and painting walls, and maintain clean areas such as the turnaround, garage, and terraces.
  • Mail Room Operations: Assist with sorting and material disposition, and provide backup support as needed.
  • Emergency Response: Be available for after-hour emergency call-ins and occasional weekends.
Requirements
  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum six months to one year of experience in office and building services, with familiarity with office furniture systems and general building repairs.
  • Skills: Valid MD Class C Driver's License, fork lift operator certification, and ability to lift items up to 75 lbs.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
