Position: Space Systems Technical Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a skilled professional with a robust technical research background to offer expert guidance and project oversight on innovative space systems initiatives at INCA Engineering. As a Space Systems Technical Manager, you will be responsible for providing project management, technical direction, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and collaborators. Your technical expertise will be crucial in conducting risk assessments, coordinating tests, and managing evaluations.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in various technologies, including space systems engineering, electronic warfare, and both hardware and software design.

This position requires 100% onsite presence with a flexible work schedule that may include occasional remote work options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular assessments of program performance to identify technical and scheduling risks; develop strategies for risk mitigation and communicate findings effectively.
  • Review and provide guidance on technical documentation, briefings, and communications from project performers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple DoD agencies and services.
  • Oversee early operational analyses and shape project direction.
  • Manage programmatic tasks, including technical analyses, identifying technology gaps, risk management, cost estimation, and supporting technical reviews.
  • Prepare comprehensive work products for INCA Engineering, including presentations and reports.
  • Organize and participate in program reviews, site visits, and field tests.
  • Assist in the development of research solicitations and source selection activities related to electromagnetic spectrum dominance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in space systems engineering or mission operations.
  • A degree in physics, electrical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active or in-scope DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI Access is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with technologies such as electronic warfare, hardware and software design, and flight software design.
  • Previous experience supporting programs at DARPA in a technical and program management capacity.
  • Familiarity with DARPA processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management, ideally as a project lead.
  • Strong interest and knowledge in the relevant technical areas.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new areas to support program objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in developing and testing space technologies.
  • Attention to detail and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of leading and supporting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to urgent requests.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.
  • Familiarity with the technical, programmatic, and contractual landscape of DARPA.
