Job Summary

This role takes the lead in providing complex application development services as part of a project team or in an application support role. The successful candidate will analyze, design, code, test, and implement systematic solutions to meet customer requirements, adhering to Highmark IT standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis, design, coding, testing, and implementation of complex application enhancements, ensuring minimal or no defects.
  • Collaborate with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions.
  • Provide required technical support, including release implementations, on-call, and 24x7 support when necessary.
  • Participate in project teams in various roles, including Developer, Technical Lead, and Project Manager, based on level of experience.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, customers, partners, and management, including conducting technical walkthroughs, reporting project status, and providing accurate documentation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • 5 years of experience as a developer, with experience in Project Management tools, databases, and multiple coding languages.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with Python and/or JavaScript, developing RESTful services, reusable libraries, and mentoring/training developers.

  • Object-Oriented Programming
  • Git or similar version control system
  • Best practices for code security, readability, testability, maintainability, quality, and scalability
  • Experience with technology platforms, application development tools, business processes, and software development life cycle used by Highmark enterprise
